Wall of Honor Membership/Donations

 

A campaign has been launched to pay tribute to the men and women, past and present, who have preserved the tradition of mummery as we know it today.

 

Through their tireless efforts, a tradition which began over 300 years ago and has entertained millions of people, the art and folklore of mummery, has flourished. It is these individuals, not only the costumed marcher, but the seamstress, marshall, designer, carpenter, civic leader, and many other individuals who have contributed to this custom, whom the the Mummers Wall of Honor permanently enshrines.

 

Proceeds will be used to enhance or replace current museum exhibits which are more than 20 years old.

 

The Mummers Wall of Honor was unveiled in the spring of 1996. When you make a $200 contribution to the enhancement of the exhibit area of the Mummers Museum, the name you designate will be permanently placed on the Mummers Wall of Honor.

 

You will receive a handsome certificate, personalized with the name and affiliation of the individual you choose to honor. In addition all names will be entered , together with a biography and the name of the donor, into a computer register.

 

Guidelines for registration

 

  • $200 (One-Name Entry)
  • Entry to be a maximum of 30 characters, including spaces
  • Parentheses or quotation marks are not used
  • Specify upper and lower case letters and spacing where necessary
  • Affiliation does not appear on the wall. It is listed in a computer database.
  • Biography should be 100 words or fewer, and submitted in either electronic or printed format
